Using SnapZone

How do I send photos to SnapZone
To send a photo to SnapZone you need to follow the steps below:
1) Check that you have added your Snapzone sending address to the contact list on your mobile phone.
2) Take a photo on your mobile phone and using the menu options (usually found under the "options" tab or by pressing the center key) attach the picture to a new message.
3) Using the send option, select your Snapzone sending address from your contact list, and press send.
4) Within a couple of minutes, your picture should appear in your snapzone gallery. You will need to refresh the browser window to see the image (the time between sending a photo from your mobile and receiving it in SnapZone gallery will vary according to your mobile operator).

How do I add a contact to my mobile phone?
1) Go to the "contacts" option or icon, usually found in the main phone menu.
2) In contacts, you should find another option labeled "add contact" or "new contact" - click on this.
3) The number of fields that the "new contact" screen will display depends on which mobile phone you have, but you should be able to add a Name, First Name and Last Name. Type in "SnapZone" in any of these fields and then scroll down the contact fields until you see email address.
4) In the "email address" contact field, type in your SnapZone sending address (which you can find in the settings area of the SnapZone website).
5) Once you have added your SnapZone sending address (username.4digitnumber@snapzone.com), the contact is complete and you should click "save".
Now when you scroll down your contacts, you should see a contact called "SnapZone" - this is the contact you use for sending photos or MMS to SnapZone.

Can I change the view of the photos?
Yes - the default view for your photos is called "GalleryView" - this means we display 16 photos on the page with no text. You can change the view of your photos by clicking BlogView or SlideView
To view a photo in more detail, simply click on the photo, and you will see the image in BlogView. If you click the image again, you will be taken to the SlideView.
To change the default way that you or your visitors see your photos, go to settings and change the settings under Default View.

How can I add a description, title and text to an photo?
Go to the image in BlogView and select the "edit" option against the photo that you would like to add the text to. This will load a new page where you can add a title, and text against the photo. Once you have added the text you require, remember to click "save". If you want this text to be displayed in your gallery, you will need to change your gallery view to BlogView.

How do I delete a photo?
To delete a photo, simply click on the "delete" text which is displayed in the top right hand corner of the image. This can be performed in both BlogView and GalleryView.

How can I let friends and family see my photos?
SnapZone provides every user with a personalized URL or web address which links to their personal photo album. If you want to share your pictures with your friends and family, let them know your SnapZone viewing address where they will be able to view (but not edit or delete) your images. Your SnapZone viewing address is displayed in the "settings" area of the website, once you have logged in.

Is there a limit to the number of photos I can store?
No, not yet. We may have to introduce a limit depending on how the service is used. We will let you know if we do decide to set a limit.

I don't want my pictures included in the community page...
No problem. Simply go to the "settings" tab and change the default settings under "Site Privacy".

Troubleshooting

I send a picture from my phone, but it doesn't show up in SnapZone.
Assuming you have checked the obvious (you are holding your phone - and its turned on, you have credit, your phone has a camera etc), the most probable cause of this problem is that you don't have "MMS services" enabled. This is the way in which your phone wraps your picture to send across the network. Some mobile networks will give everyone MMS from day 1, however if you have recently upgraded your phone or are on a pre-paid contract - you may need to phone your mobile network provider up and ask for this. If they don't give it to you, a small bribe or threat should do the trick.
If you know you have "MMS" enabled, other things you should do are:
Check your snapzone sending address in your contacts list.
The pictures I send to SnapZone show up but they are very small.
To fix this, you need to find the picture settings on your mobile phone - usually go in to the camera application, and look for an "options" or "settings" - under this there is usually an "image quality" or "image size" option. Generally, the higher you set the quality or resolution (bigger resolutions have bigger numbers e.g. 1024 x 768), the bigger the image should be when it arrives at SnapZone. If in doubt, give your friendly mobile operator a call and see if they can help.

Others

How much does SnapZone cost?
The SnapZone web service is currently free - the only cost you will incur is what your mobile network operator charges you for sending an MMS (this varies between companies). Check with your operator to see what price they charge. Many provide a special bundle for MMS that reduced the cost significantly.
